Extend Hope. Extend Life.
Serve our community with honor and respect, with faith and harm reduction principles as our motivator.
The Gaston County Opioid Overdose Response Team is designed to end the cycle of repeat overdoses by providing opioid-dependent individuals with opportunities to convert near-death experiences into life-changing events that can lead them to recovery and reduced risk of illness and death.
Points of Hope is a program with multiple aspects of Harm Reduction Outreach, including syringe access, naloxone/narcan distribution, peer support, and justice center education.
Our local unhoused population consists of not only individuals in shelters, but also a large number of people who live in “tent cities.
We work to ensure they have food, clothing, and hygiene products, as well as help them to carry out trash from the sites. We also use donated durable medical equipment to help set up safe toilets for residents.
